Understanding hydrogen embrittlement in steels

Hydrogen at defects
This atom probe tomography dataset is a thin slice of a 3-Dimensional dataset that demonstrates how hydrogen (isotopically pure 2H in this case) segregates to dislocations in high-strength steels that are also rich in carbon highlighted by the heat map with red showing the highest concentration.
